Earlier this week we posted about a new line of custom wood tubs from designer Anna van der Lei (see The Home Spa Reimagined); here’s another example of a Japanese-inspired bathing space from Dutch designer Hanna Maring.

Maring was invited by the Volkshotel in Amsterdam to create the Bathing Bikou room, which “incorporates relaxing, sleeping, and bathing in one space.” Using humble materials—concrete, plywood, and textile panels—Maring created a bathing space that’s at once luxurious and humble.
