Falmouth, a town on the Cornish coast of England, is about as close as you can get to the continent without leaving the UK. Ever since Easy Jet’s bargain pricing opened Britain’s southern coastline to visitors from the rest of Europe, the area has been enjoying a renaissance, and the B & Bs of yore have given way to smart hotels such as The Falmouth Townhouse. Designed by Kathryn Tyler of Linea Studio (who studied at the local College of Arts and has remained in Falmouth ever since). An avid upcylcer of furniture, Tyler tries to source as much as possible locally. “The palette I use is usually fairly neutral, generally complimented by lots of sea blues and tree greens, as I often take ideas from textures and things I see when on walks around the coast.” For more on the hotel, go to The Falmouth Townhouse.
